Systems Administrator

We are a rapidly growing gaming company in search of an experienced network engineer with
some basic programming experience. We are in the process of localizing several games from a
large parent company overseas in China. Candidate will have the opportunity to manage both
the internal office network and web hosting system and to standardize and refine our operating
procedures for launching and maintaining online gaming servers. As we plan to launch multiple
game titles including an MMORPG, this position has a lot of opportunity for growth.

Job Qualifications:

• 2+ years of networking and programming experience
• Understanding of server protocol for both Windows and Linux
• Professional oral and communication skills
• Experience in project management


• Knowledge of video games/gaming industry culture
• PHP, Javascript, AJAX, SQL a plus


• HTML and CSS a plus

 

Job Duties:

• Manage technical needs of US subsidiary servers and coordinate with overseas team at parent company
• Provide back end support to web development
• Plan and coordinate the logistics, hardware, and hosting services necessary to accommodate company technical needs providing cost effective and reliable troubleshooting. Candidate will be expected to communicate with management with both a plan of action and present ongoing schedules for both current and projected network status.
• Maintain and ensure smooth connectivity of company on-site internet and web hosting and off site servers at data center in Fresno. Some travel may be required.
• Work with China HQ overseas to coordinate server launch.

We are currently searching for a motivated individual with a passion for games as well as great customer service skills. The ideal candidate should have previous GM or customer service experience, as well as possess a strong knowledge of the unique issues inherent to MMO games. We need someone who is aware of the desires of gamers, cares about their needs and understands the MMO market.
Job Description Responsibilities
As a Game Master, you would:

• Provide general community management: forums, social media, in-game, etc.
• Test and document game and localization bugs
• Draft and outline possible game features and improvements
• Address and resolve customer/player issues
• Develop and maintain customer/player relations
• Investigate and document complex issues with regard to bugs, game exploits, trade and other potential issues;
• Distinguish for the team and other departments between high and low priority items
• Document and communicate in-game community satisfaction, revenue stream, and revenue-building opportunities to management
• Organize and run events for the community of players
• Monitor game servers to ensure stability and fair game play.

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and passion for MMOs and gaming
• Self-directed, detail oriented, problem solver with a burning desire to contribute to a uniquely creative environment;
